Granny Clippin: A New Local Clipping Service Plus Giveaway!

I love being able to feature local coupon clippers - I have found another one that is local and very fast!  Granny Clippin is my latest find - I actually found her on Ebay but then was happy to know she has her own site that she runs as well.  Granny Clippin is local to Cincinnati, which means a quicker turn around time in getting your coupons that you need!  A few things to note - there is a limit enforced of 40 coupons (so everyone can get some!), you can pay with credit card, paypal, or cash (if picking up in person), please know that only one coupon code can be used per order, and there is also a newsletter that you can subscribe to get heads up on new coupons!

Right now, though Friday at Noon, you can get 50% off all listings by using code "50%".  There are some hot coupons available right now, so take advantage of this!   Also, Saving Money Wisely readers can get 10% off their order everyday by using code "smw".

Granny Clippin is also offering one of my readers a $3.00 credit to her store!  Here is how you can enter to win:

1.  Visit Granny Clippin and take a look at the coupons available - what would you order with your $3.00 store credit?  Leave me a comment to let me know!

2.  "Like" me on Facebook - leave me a comment that you did

3.  Answer this question for me in the comments section:  What are your favorite features to see on a blog?  What do you like/not like?  Leave me a comment and let me know!

Teaching Thursdays: Why Buy Coupons?

pileofcoupons
I recently had a conversation with someone about using coupons.  They were an acquaintance and as we were discussing current coupon sales she says to me, "Can you believe that people actually buy coupons? I mean, come on - buying coupons!?" That is where I kindly mentioned that I generally purchase coupons at least three to four times a month and that she can do so from my site.  Her next question was, "But.....why would anyone buy a coupon?" To clear up a few things - when you purchase from a clipper you are actually purchasing the time it takes for them to clip, organize, and send the coupon - you aren't actually purchasing the coupon.  There are many great companies available to order from - all that are listed on my site I would endorse 100%! The reason to obtain extra coupons is very simple.  If a product is on sale and there is a coupon available that makes it at a low stock up price - buy as many as you can at that price!  Let's take cereal for example.  I would guess that an average family probably goes through about 1-2 boxes per week of their favorite cereal.  Let's assume that it is normally priced at $3.49 but is on sale this week for $1.99.  Take a look at how much you can save over a 12 week period (the typical sales cycle of stores) when you stock up at a low price with coupon versus paying full price. Regular price of 12 boxes: $41.88 Sale price of 12 boxes: $23.88 Price of 12 boxes at sale price of $1.99 and using a $0.55/1 coupon that doubles to $1.00:  $11.88 So without any catalinas or store promotions, you save $30.00 by stocking up at a low price and using multiple coupons - and that is just what you are saving on cereal. Now, not everyone wants to buy 12 boxes of cereal at a time (or has the room for that many) - but the principle applies for tuna, canned goods, rice, diapers, shampoo - anything you can think of! Also, many grocery items can be frozen until they are needed for use.  Check in next week for more information on what can be frozen and how!

$3.00/1 Snuggle Coupon – How Much Is Too Much To Pay?

snuggle
I posted earlier in the week that we will be receiving a $3.00/1 Snuggle Coupon in the inserts on Sunday.  The last time this coupon came around, it yielded FREE snuggle softener.  So, for many of us, this is a coupon that is going to get ordered!  I can tell you already - there are people out there that know that there are people that will pay for this coupon - and they will royally overcharge for it!  While it is a very high value coupon, we all need to be cautious to actually weigh the cost of the coupons against the value it will give us in return. For example, I did a search tonight on Ebay and found that these coupons are going for quite a pretty penny!  Right now the cheapest Buy It Now is going at $4.45 for 5 coupons (free shipping) - this equals out to $0.89 per coupon!  There are quite a few listings that are even higher than this! I point this out for one reason - check with the clippers before ebay!  Right now you can order the $3.00/1 Snuggle Coupons from The Coupon Clippers for $0.50 each.  They have a limit of 6 per person, but this is a much more reasonable amount than $0.89 or higher! If you'd like to order this coupon, I'd highly recommend checking out my order coupons page.  You'll likely receive a better price here rather than on Ebay - but I would hurry -I'm sure this coupon is going to be in high demand!
